Five Fun Alternatives to Working Out

You have to wonder why everything seems like a job. School seems like a job, for those of you who have children parenting can be a job, cleaning your house can be a job, and most of all your job is most definitely a job. Even trying to stay fit can be a job, that's why they call it "working" out. But it doesn't have to be! For those of you who think working should be limited to a cubicle, here are five alternative ways to "working out", a.k.a. exercising, going to the gym, aerobics class, and fitness. Doing these activities can not only be beneficial to your health, but also a ton of fun!
1) Go Swimming. It's great for building strength, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, and endurance. Swimming can also be a form of relaxation, staying cool during summer heat, and a lot of fun especially when you take it to the beach!
2) Walk Everywhere. If you live in a community where everything is just blocks away, walking can be a great way to get you to and fro. We all know about the wonderful benefits walking has for your health, so why not do it instead of hopping in a car? Plus you'll get to enjoy all the sites along the way to your destination. And if you have a pet, it's a great activity for the both of you!
3) Take Up A Sport. Whether it's volleyball, basketball, baseball, football, or whatever other "ball" sport there is out there, sports is a great way to stay active. Not only are you getting the needed exercise, but it can be fun when you're with family and friends. It's also a good way to meet new people.
4) Enjoy Nature. This is great for those of you who are the outdoorsy type. There are so many activities one can do out in nature that can keep you physically in apt and can also be very enjoyable. You can do things like hiking, rock climbing, fishing, canoeing, and mountain climbing. No wonder people in native tribes are so trim and cut!
5) Dance. What can be further from the perception of work then turning up your favorite jams and dancing like there's no tomorrow? Dancing is a great way to burn calories, increase flexibility, improve cardio, and just plain have fun. Whether you're in a club, in a ballroom, at a party, or in the privacy of your own bedroom, dance your way to a health!
